Star Security Services Company Limited holds Security Company Licence (Type I) No. 2039, issued by the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority, and provides round-the-clock on-site guarding for residential developments, offices, industrial buildings and serviced apartments.
Licensed
Operating a security business in Hong Kong requires a Security Company Licence under the Security and Guarding Services Ordinance (Cap. 460). We hold a Type I licence, permitting the provision of security guarding services. The licence is issued by the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority and appears on the Security Bureau’s public register of licensed security companies, which anyone can check.

Each site runs a central control room where the duty supervisor watches the CCTV and radio network and calls each post at set intervals. If a post does not answer in time, a patrol officer attends in person.
Every officer on site is directly employed by us, cleared by a background check before joining, holds a valid Security Personnel Permit, and works in our uniform with a company ID card. The line of responsibility stays clear.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Star Group (1560.HK), with the financial standing, employees’ compensation and public liability cover that long-term contracts require, and able to coordinate with the group’s property management and works companies.
Beyond the group
Of the eleven properties and institutions we serve, five are clients outside the group, spanning commercial buildings, a bank building, serviced apartments and residential developments. We also bid in open tenders as a matter of course.
An independently licensed entity: we hold the security company licence in our own name and can contract directly with owners, owners’ corporations or managing agents, without going through another group company.
Commercial and bank buildings: outside-group commercial addresses such as 299QRC in Sheung Wan, Tai Sang Bank Building in Central and UQ Place in Tsim Sha Tsui set the highest bar for lobby reception, identity checks and visitor registration.
Open tenders: we keep the licence, insurance and management documentation that tendering requires, and can submit bids under an owners’ corporation’s or managing agent’s tender procedures.

We sit within the “Star Properties and Services” division of Star Group (1560.HK). The three sister companies in that division each have their own remit, and their licences are held by different legal entities and issued by different authorities.
